A Glimpse of life for our Mission Partners the Brownings in East Africa
Andrew writes, “We thank God for your support and prayers over the last 16 years. Life here in Tanzania continues to be a mix of frustrations and blessings. A personal prayer point has been answered which makes our life here a little more comfortable. As many of you know we have had water issues at our house for years and most weeks we have to cart water from our neighbour’s house to our house in buckets. This makes even brushing your teeth or washing your hands a difficult chore.
Our landlord found a way of buying and piping extra water into our tanks and for the last few weeks we’ve had water in our taps (almost) every day! Unfortunately it won’t take long before I take it for granted, but now I am just thankful.” Dr Browning is a highly qualified surgeon & Stephanie a very able teacher. Together with their boys, they have given up so much to serve the world’s poorest in Jesus name. We have had the privilege of partnering with them for the past 16 years. They will return to Australia permanently in 2018. Copies of Andrew’s latest newsletter are available in the church.
So far this year we have spent on staffing and ministries $15,000 more than we have received. Parish Council has asked if our members are able to help by praying about this; making a one off donation via our tax deductible Music or SRE funds; or by increasing slightly our weekly giving. Please note that all recent building improvements to Piper Cottage and Thompson Hall have been financed out of grants and the Wylie Bequest, not from budget giving.
