Woolgoolga

Simon & Alison Reeve have joined BCA in an exciting new role with the Diocese of Grafton in northern New South Wales.  Simon will serve as the Young Families Minister at Northern Beaches Anglicans, a parish based in Woolgoolga reaching out to the beach towns north of Coffs Harbour. He will also work as the Young Families Resource Officer across the Diocese of Grafton.

Nungalinya College

Jim and Nat Watson:  After 13 years in Kununurra, the Watson family have moved to Darwin to take up a new ministry opportunity. Jim has been appointed the Property Manager at Nungalinya College and we are delighted to continue our support of Jim, Natalie and their children.   The Watsons need an extra $14,000pa  from their supporters to provide accommodation for themselves as this is not provided by the College.  Donations can be directed through our church or  through BCA for the Watsons.

Book Sales at Gymea Village Fair – Phil Hamilton-Foster reports:

Book and DVD sales went very well at the Gymea Village Fair last Sunday with  approximately 400 books and DVDs sold. ($723) So we could now use some more good quality paperbacks and DVDs for our own Spring Fair and plastic bags for our customers.

If you could leave these under the awning of the double garage on or before Friday 10th Nov it would be a great help.

News From Parish Council

  • Council is grateful for our members response and general giving was slightly over budget for August and Sept helping us to reduce this year’s deficit.
  • A grant application has been made for the replacement of Thompson Hall’s aging roof.
  • A 2018 budget has been drafted to allow for all our current staff and ministries, with an increase of 1% on current giving.  The synod recommended no annual increase to Pastoral staff salaries  … in line with average weekly earnings.
  • It was noted that 9 groups now lease our property for various charitable, community and mission uses raising over $50,000pa to help pay off our current mortgage. Our mortgage is now below $300,000.  Parish Council aims to pay this off by the end of 2020 with the help of members gifts, interest free member loans and lease income.
