Issues Too Important To Ignore

Those of us who are attending Rob Smith’s Wednesday lectures at SMBC are finding them very helpful. In term 4, he will be addressing some of the big issues of our time. For just $20 you get 2 x 45 minute lectures, notes, morning tea and lunch! Leave the church at 10am and be back by 1.45pm. Please try to clear some time and join us if you can.

Update on the Brownings

When our mission partners the Brownings were with us last, they let us know that they are now living on the Central Coast.  Andrew is now employed by the Barbara May Foundation to do regular surgical and training trips to East Africa and to encourage fund raising for BMF back in Oz.  As such they no longer require the personal donations or the fund raising we have given them in the past.  We are currently investigating how we might continue our link with the Brownings and BMF, either formally or informally.  Our Parish Council and PGM committee would appreciate member feedback on this.

So for now, we will not be fundraising for “the Brownings” – our last gift of $900 will be used by Andrew on his upcoming surgical visit to Tanzania.  If you wish to become a regular donor to BMF, as Jane and I have decided to be, then a brochure about this can be found in our foyer, or online, or simply donate to:  Barbara May Foundation   BSB 032716 (Westpac)  Account 403741   Bowral.

Update from Charlotte Thacker

I praise God for a lovely time in Fiji. I am especially thankful for when he protected against sickness and showed me how well he can work through the Fijians as they serve him in all different contexts. I was also encouraged by the love and support my mission team gave each other, especially as I I struggled with tiredness, anxiousness and missing my family at times, they were always there for me, and served in ministry regardless of how they were feeling. Lift up the name of our amazing God! Who moves in the hearts of many here, and across the globe.
