Thanksgiving for Nextgen

Every year we hold Thanksgiving Sunday with a special appeal for funds for our next year’s budget.  This year our focus is Nextgen – the generation to follow us … our children and youth.  So our goals are:

$15,000 for Craig & Olivia’s Ministry
$10,000 for our tax deductible SRE Trust
$  3,000 for children from drought affected bush churches
$  2,000 for FUSE camp sponsorship
                    $30,000 target total

Nextgen Thanksgiving Sunday 21st October  –  sharing & thanksgiving at every service, plus our year in review, walking with the Lord Jesus.

Nextgen Thanksgiving Picnic Saturday 20th Oct  11am to 1pm –  at

Bonnievale Leisure Ground Bundeena (20mins drive).  This will be preceded by a fundraiser.  The picnic will be preceded by fundraiser events—a paddlathon for kayakers, paddle boarders etc; a fun run through National Park; a walkathon for kids and the young at heart; a swimathon for those brave enough to swim in Port Hacking! Sponsorship forms are now available at church or donations can be made via the church website.  Be sure to give your name and contact details if you are donating to our SRE Trust which is tax deductible.

Blood Donors Save Lives

We all know this – an estimated 3 lives are saved by each blood donation.  Not everyone is able to donate, but far more can than do.  All of us have close family members who have been healed or saved by blood donations.  Like many of you I have been a regular donor for decades and see it as a small effort for a huge result.

Our church has been invited to join the Red25 groups program.  This is a way of encouraging each other to be involved.  They have a shuttle service that can pick you up and drop donors back to the church (groups of 3-5) if that helps. This runs during business hours Monday – Friday.  Donor forms are available from church and can be prefilled to speed your donation experience.  If you’re an existing donor or a new donor, just let the Blood Bank know you wish to be part of the Gymea Anglican Red 25 Team.

Your brother in Christ, Graham Crew
