Jesus and his family – I’ve been reading through the Gospels this month as you know and I was struck again in John 19 by Jesus extraordinary love for his followers. “Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.  When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,”  and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” In the midst of his hellish suffering Jesus cared for his believing mother and disciple. And he told them that they were now his family and were to treat each other as precious God’s family.  May we at Gymea seek to love and live as God’s precious family.

Welcome the Donaldsons  – our mission partners Andy and Nicolle Donaldson and family.  Members can watch our 6pm service live streamed at, and then this will be available anytime to members after 8pm.

Our Pre-recorded Program   – has been very kindly continued by Ben Stephenson.  This week’s program features Prof Alan Watson’s excellent sermon on Matthew 5. You can watch it here from 7am Sunday morning –  Enjoy!

Summer at 6pm Sundays Outdoors – thanks to all those who worked efficiently and creatively to hold church outdoors in the carpark last Sunday when the blackout hit.  It worked so well that its on again this Sunday.  BYO folding chair if you can (there’ll be plenty of other chairs provided if you can’t). This is a good opportunity to invite neighbours and friends to “church with a difference”.  It worked well with the children too.

QR codes & signing in at church – a new system using your smart phone & QR codes to record your presence at church EVERY service. All members, guests and children need to record their presence each time they attend church.

Term 1 Focus – we’re studying in church the much neglected second half of Romans.  We’ll be producing a study guide for Romans 12-16. Please let us know if you’d like a copy. These will be available from 1st February.
